Recommended CPAN Modules
CPAN, by its very nature, is Comprehensive. That means it includes everything, of any quality -- the good, the bad, the ugly -- and on any topic. This can make finding the right module for you difficult. Often there are modules which are considered by the Perl community to be, if not the best, then recommended for the job.
There is a project to gather Ratings and Reviews for CPAN. Everyone knows about the big and/or popular modules, but there are lots of modules that rarely get attention and deserve wider recognition. If you encounter a module that solves a little task you have and does it well (or does it poorly), write a review!
Here are lists of CPAN modules recommended by the Perl community. Each list is broken down by a particular type of job you need to do.
Those who wish to work on these lists, please read the Guide To Recommending Modules.

Aaron: Sounds like a good candidate for a new page. I'd say start one, throw a few items on it, and if it needs to be moved or restructured later, we'll deal with it then.
