^^^ Additions, Changes, and Fixes
This page details the major feature additions and changes in Socialtext 1.4 from the previous version, Socialtext 1.3. The Socialtext [Socialtext Documentation] page includes documentation on these new features.
*Simple Visual Editing*
There's no longer a need to remember markup. Just click on the visual buttons to place the correct markup into the text. To format some text, or make a link out of some words, simply select the text, and click the button.
*Fast Edit*
The responsiveness of the system has been improved. When you have a thought you want to express, just click and start writing. You no longer need to wait for a new page to load.
*Comment Date Displays in the Reader's Time Zone*
Regardless of the time zone in which a comment was created, the reader sees the datestamp in his or her own timezone. For example, a comment that was made in London at 4pm GMT will appear with a datestamp of 10am Central time for a reader in Chicago.
^^^ Known Issues
The Visual Editor does not work in Safari. It has been tested in Internet Explorer and Netscape/Mozilla, on Windows, Mac, and Linux.
When using Internet Explorer, you need to select text first in order to format the text or add a link.
