Additions, Changes, and Fixes

This page details the major feature additions and changes in Socialtext 1.6 from the previous version, Socialtext 1.5.5. The Socialtext Documentation page describes these new features in detail.

Changes -- cleaner look

• The visual design has been upgraded for a cleaner look and feel
• The navigation sidebars can be opened and closed, so you can focus on the information you need
• "Workspace Navigation" is the new name for "Team Favorites"
• "Weblog Navigation" is the new name for "Blogroll"
• Page history lets you compare any two versions of the page -- not just the most recent two versions

Additions -- better email integration

We've added new features to better integrate with your email-based workflows:

• Send a workspace page to colleagues by email
• Provide an "Email" category to easily find incoming email
• Editing a workspace page using your email client
• Send an email to a specific weblog or category
• Send HTML email to workspace
