<p>
Socialtext makes organizing your team's files a lot easier. You can attach files to Socialtext pages just as you can attach files to e-mails, except Socialtext pages don't get lost in your inbox. What's more, Socialtext will show you all the attachments in the workspace, making hunting around for attachments a thing of the past.</p>
<p>
When viewing a page, a list of its attachments appears in the light purple &quot;Attachments&quot; box in the sidebar.</p>
<blockquote><blockquote>
<span class="nlw_phrase"><img alt="Page-View-Attachments.png" src="http://www.perlfoundation.org/help-en/index.cgi/Page-View-Attachments.png?action=attachments_download;page_name=changing_the_workspace;id=20070804014330-1-6574" /><!-- wiki: {image: [Changing the workspace] Page-=View-=Attachments.png} --></span></blockquote></blockquote>
<br /><blockquote>
<strong>Attach a file (while viewing a page).</strong> Click on the <strong>Upload files</strong> button to add one or more files. If you're <em>viewing</em> a page, you will find this button below the list of attachments. The &quot;Upload Files&quot; window pops up.
<blockquote><blockquote>
<span class="nlw_phrase"><img alt="Upload-Files-Popup.png" src="http://www.perlfoundation.org/help-en/index.cgi/Upload-Files-Popup.png?action=attachments_download;page_name=attached_files;id=20070804014322-3-6539" /><!-- wiki: {image: Upload-=Files-=Popup.png} --></span></blockquote></blockquote>
This is where you'll locate the file on your computer. Click <strong>Browse</strong> and find the file you would like to attach. Click Open, and then click <strong>Upload File</strong>. Repeat the process for any additional files. Click <strong>Done</strong> when you have no more files to attach.</blockquote>
<br /><blockquote>
<strong>Attach a file (while editing).</strong> If you're <em>editing</em> a page, you will find the &quot;Upload Files&quot; button above the editing box - it is the rightmost icon. The &quot;Upload Files&quot; window pops up.
<blockquote><blockquote>
<span class="nlw_phrase"><img alt="Upload-Files-Editing-Popup.png" src="http://www.perlfoundation.org/help-en/index.cgi/Upload-Files-Editing-Popup.png?action=attachments_download;page_name=attached_files;id=20070804014322-0-6573" /><!-- wiki: {image: Upload-=Files-=Editing-=Popup.png} --></span></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote>
<br /><blockquote>
Now, tell Socialtext where the file is located on your computer. Click <strong>Browse</strong> and find the file you would like to attach. Click Open, and then click <strong>Add file</strong> to add it to the list of files to be uploaded. Repeat the process for any additional files. Click <strong>Done</strong> when you have no more files to attach. After editing, be sure to <strong>Save</strong> the page so that the files are uploaded.<br />
When you add files while you are editing, the files are queued for upload, but are not actually uploaded until you save the page. If you do not save the page, the files are not attached.</blockquote>
<br /><blockquote>
<strong>Remove a file.</strong> While viewing a page, click the <strong>Manage files</strong> button to view or delete some of its attachments. The file management window pops up.
<blockquote><blockquote>
<span class="nlw_phrase"><img alt="Manage-Files-Popup.png" src="http://www.perlfoundation.org/help-en/index.cgi/Manage-Files-Popup.png?action=attachments_download;page_name=attached_files;id=20070804014322-2-6609" /><!-- wiki: {image: Manage-=Files-=Popup.png} --></span></blockquote></blockquote></blockquote>
<br /><blockquote>
Select the files you want to remove. Then click on <strong>Delete Selected Files</strong>. Click <strong>Close</strong> when done.</blockquote>
<br /><blockquote>
<strong>Including an image in the page.</strong> To include an image, attach the image to the page. Check <strong>&quot;Add a link to the attachment at the top of the page? Images will appear in the page.&quot;</strong>. A link will be created to display the image at the top of the page. You can edit the page in <a href="http://www.perlfoundation.org/help-en/index.cgi?advanced_mode" title="(70 months) _Back to [Socialtext Documentation]._ Introduction Occasionally, you will not be able to do what you...">Advanced mode</a> afterwards to move the image to another part of the page.</blockquote>
<br /><blockquote>
<strong>Attaching several files.</strong> To attach several files all at once, add them all to a <em>zip</em> file (use <a target="_blank" title="(external link)" href="http://www.winzip.com">WinZip<!-- wiki-renamed-hyperlink "WinZip"<http://www.winzip.com> --></a> or <a target="_blank" title="(external link)" href="http://www.haase-online.de/dirk/maczip/download/index.html">MacZip<!-- wiki-renamed-hyperlink "MacZip"<http://www.haase=-online.de/dirk/maczip/download/index.html> --></a>). Attach the zip file to the page. After you browse to a zip file, check <strong>&quot;Expand zip archive and attach individual files to the page&quot;</strong>. All the files in the archive will be unpacked and attached individually. Leave that box unchecked to simply upload the zip archive as an ordinary attachment.</blockquote>
<br /><blockquote>
